The LTRA survey team volunteered time and equipment to measure the record-breaking Fleur-de-lis mosaic for the Circle Ten Council Boy Scouts in Dallas, TX. Thousands of scouts from the Circle Ten Council collected and recycled aluminum cans during 2013 in an effort to break the Guinness Book of World for the Largest Fleur-de-lis mosaic with aluminum cans. On November 9, 2013 the scouts gathered at Fair Park to form the mosaic which was comprised of 201,280 cans (5,920 pounds of aluminum) and covered 17,787 lf.
Over 25,200 hours of combined service was required to complete the effort. Proceeds will be used by the council to purchase mosquito nets and tents that will be donated to The Scout Association of Uganda.
